Get to Know Dr. Clanney

Dr. Clanney attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 2014. Before attending dental school, he entered the United States Army, where he practiced as a general dentist from 2014-2018 as a Captain at Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA.

Dr. Clanney’s time serving taught him the value of hard, detail-oriented work and the importance of investing in his community. He continues to work toward deeper knowledge and skill in the art of dentistry so that he can provide his patients with the best possible care.

After his time in the Army, Dr. Clanney moved to Charleston, where he met his wife, Megan. They got married in September of 2020, and they have two dogs, Ellie and Kent.

Dr. Clanney loves sports – he even played offensive line on his college football team. When he’s not helping patients achieve the smile of their dreams or watching football, he and his wife can be found on the back nine of their local golf course or spending time outdoors with family and friends.

What to Expect

The Experience

When you first walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our comfortable environment and our friendly office staff. You’ll be invited to sit down and relax as you fill out any new patient forms prior to your appointment. Once those are complete and your hygienist is ready for you, we’ll invite you back into one of our operatories.

If you’re taking advantage of our new patient special, you’ll receive a cleaning, comprehensive exam, x-rays, and Dr. Clanney will sit down with you to discuss the results. If everything looks good, you’ll be able to schedule your next appointment in the front office. If anything needs extra attention, Dr. Clanney will explain the results and take time to address any questions or concerns you might have, and he will describe any further treatment recommendations. ‍

What to Bring

In order to ensure a smooth, efficient appointment, we ask that you bring your ID, insurance information, and any forms that you’ve filled out prior to your appointment.

Intraoral Scanner

Intraoral scanners allow us to capture digital impressions of your smile, minimizing the discomfort and mess of goopy impressions and improving the accuracy of treatment.

Digital X-rays

With our digital x-ray technology, we’re able to capture highly accurate images of your teeth with a fraction of the radiation of traditional x-rays.

Beverage Station

As part of our mission to provide you with an overall positive experience at our office, we’re glad to provide free beverages for you while you wait for your appointment.
